If you’ve never been baptized, you want to rededicate your walk with Christ or maybe you didn’t really know what it meant when you were baptized, now is this time!
What is baptism?
We believe baptism, according to the Bible, is an outward testimony of what has occurred inwardly in a believer’s life. Christian baptism illustrates a believer’s identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. In Romans 6:3-4 the Bible declares, “Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Baptism is the action of being immersed in water symbolizes dying and being buried with Christ. The action of coming out of the water pictures Christ’s resurrection.
Does baptism save me?
Simply put, no. Though being saved by Jesus Christ and being baptized go hand in hand, baptism does not save you. It is a symbolic act of your salvation through Jesus Christ.
Why should I get baptized? Baptism says “Jesus saved me, washed away my sins, and has made me new! I am going to follow Him!” Have you invited Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior? Do you have the desire to get baptized? Do you feel God calling you to make a public profession of faith?
